2020 was challenging in many ways, having said that, it has taught me many things that I would not have learned otherwise.

Gratitude

The first and foremost lesson that I had learned this year that I would not have learned otherwise is “Gratitude”. Expressing gratitude and practicing gratitude daily can train our subconscious mind to be happier that can eventually lead to better productivity.

Gratitude helps us overcome the bitterness and pain that we all carry with us. It allows us to drop some of the burdens we’ve put on ourselves — Think Like A Monk by Jay Shetty

Fear of Failure

Fear of failure is something that I had been juggling with for the last few years without knowing it. This year forced me to acknowledge it. Reasonable early success in various avenues has had the opposite effect on me that I started deploying defense mechanisms that prevented me from taking risks. I realized fear is completely normal when we venture into spaces that are not comfortable for us. Fear should rather be seen as a signal that calls for action than a mental block. If we can cultivate this perspective it helps a lot to deal with Fear and Anxiety

Fear does not prevent death. It prevents life — Budha

Cortisol is a “Silent Killer”

I realized Stress is one thing that accelerates growing unhealthy in an exponential trajectory. To visualize the impact, Imagine stress as a Jigsaw moving over your body; that’s the amount of damage that stress can cause to your body.

How to remediate from stress?

The easiest way that works is — Just Breathe!

Long paused breathing help remediate stress almost immediately; early morning sprinting is a stress buster. Exercising in any form is a stress buster and remediates from cortisol the hormone that kills us silently from the inside.

Sleep Adequately

When we don’t sleep enough, it impairs productivity and minimizes your performance as well as reduces your happiness and erodes your health — The 5 AM Club — Robin Sharma

Finally,

2020 You were an uphill run but you presented an opportunity to change!

Hello 2021!

I am planning to greet 2021 with…

Positivity

Figured out that the power of positive thoughts and feelings is the Secret Ingredient for success

Wake up with a purpose

Having a strong sense of purpose helps us overlook daily frustrations as trivial as possible. I have promised myself that, I will wake up every day with a strong sense of purpose

Seeing life as a service leads to fulfillment

Power of Routine

Figured out a powerful routine can move mountains. I always thought having a routine is a hindrance to creativity but it is the other way around.

Allocate Enough Resources

When you set a target always ensure that you have enough resources to meet the target — Good Strategy Bad Strategy by Richard Rumelt

There is no room for half measure, especially if you are aiming high. Simply setting an objective without having the resources to meet it had opened up to disappointments. This year, I am not going to repeat that!
